Student Ministries - Confirmation
Confirmation is the affirmation of baptism by the church youth. It is offered for 7th and 8th graders. Classes are on Wednesday nights starting at 6:00pm with a group opening. Afterwards, the students break into smaller groups. The curriculum used is called, "Here We Stand." It is published by Augsburg Fortress.
- Each student will have a genuine understanding of what the affirmation of their Baptism means.
- Each student is bringing their own Bible to class.
- Each student is attending class 90% - 100% of the time.
- Each student is working toward committing the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles Creed, and the Ten Commandments to memory with the help and support of their family.
- Each student and family is participating in the monthly service projects.
- Each student is attending and participating in the Wednesday Services during Lent.

In Christian love you have presented these children for Holy Baptism. You should, therefore, faithfully bring them to the services of God’s house, and teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments. As they grow in years, you should place in their hands the Holy Scriptures and provide for their instruction in the Christian faith, that, living in the covenant of their Baptism and in communion with the Church, they may lead godly lives until the day of Jesus Christ.

Here We Stand is a great web-base confirmation resource. Webinars, online sessions, and other tools connect directly to workbooks for students and leaders.
